FlagShip Demo for Linux ----------------------- There are two different FlagShip ports for Linux, available on this ftp. If you own the Linux ELF system (Kernel 1.2.13 and newer), you may choose between both of them. If you own an older Linux system, you can only use the "a.out" format. With the "FlagShip for Linux ELF" available in the ../linux-elf directory, - You can link statically or dynamically, and use the produced executables on any Linux ELF systems (1.2.13 and up). - For using the FlagShip development, you will need gcc 2.7.0 or newer installed, see details in the section REL of the FlagShip manual. - This FlagShip Demo is release 4.42. With the "FlagShip for Linux a.out format" in the ../linux-aout directory, - You can link statically only, but use the produced executables on nearly any Linux system (starting from the 1.0 release), including Linux ELF. - For using the FlagShip development, you will need gcc 2.5.8 or 2.7.0 installed, see details in the section REL of the FlagShip manual. - NB: the Linux format named "a.out" has nothing common with the name of the executable, but is the naming convention of the Linux binary format only. - This FlagShip Demo is release 4.42.
